2016 ELECTION RIOTS
On November 9, 2016 protests occurred in Oakland, California, to express anger over the election of Donald Trump. While the protest began peacefully, it became violent with protesters lighting trash cans, cars and a building on fire and smashing store and car windows. Protestors clashed with riot police throughout the night and were subject to rubber batons, tear gas, and flashbangs. Thirty protesters were arrested, and three officers were injured. At least one photographer was robbed and seriously injured.
